This message brings mixed emotions for our organization. After 35 years of excellence, Randy Page has retired from Pelco Component Technologies effective March 1, 2020. Included in his 35 years are over 10 years in leading our Sales and Marketing team as Director of Sales and Marketing.

When Randy started with us we were primarily a Film Capacitor manufacturer dealing in analog industries and products. Now Pelco Component Technologies offers a variety of digital industrial controls, electronics products, and manufacturing solutions. As a key leader, Randy has been instrumental in the introduction and expansion of these product lines and the overall growth of our company.

However and more importantly, Randy has been a key leader in developing and mentoring many current and former Pelco employees. He has been instrumental in furthering our mission of Putting Power to Work. His wisdom, calm demeanor and willingness to help out any customer, prospect, vendor and co-worker will be missed by all.

As I mentioned, this message brings mixed emotions as we are excited for Randy and this next phase of his journey, but sad that his smile, sense of humor and hard work will be missed by all of us at Pelco.

We wish Randy nothing but the best of luck, good health and enjoyment in his retirement. The Christmas trees of Madison County remain in skilled hands, and the fish should be ready for a challenge.

Stephen Burt brings over a decade of experience at Central New York manufacturers and an Electrical Engineering degree from from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Welcome Stephen Burt, Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, Stephen manages the utilization of equipment, facilities and personnel to obtain maximum efficiencies in production and manufacturing. His responsibilities include planning, scheduling and monitoring production in Pelco’s Cazenovia and Mexicali locations.

Dale Henry, former Pelco Director of Manufacturing, has retired after 43 years of service during extensive growth at the company. Dale came on board in January of 1976 with STK Electronics, a division of Pelco Component Technologies. In that US Bicentennial year, STK was manufacturing film capacitors in nearby Bouckville, NY, where Dale was hired as Production Manager.

STK Electronics moved operations to Cazenovia in 1982, operating 3 shifts. Dale was eventually named Director of Manufacturing and was also responsible for the Airotronics Timers and Controls product line.

Best wishes to both gentlemen! Dale will enjoy Upstate summers touring in British sportscars, while Stephen helps steer Pelco’s future as we continue to serve OEMs, engineers and industrial designers.

The move takes place eight years after Pelco developed the Pelmax partnership in Mexicali, Mexico, to produce subassemblies for its Airotronics Timers and Controls division, located in Cazenovia, NY. PelcoEMS was created in 2014, adding wire harness and cable assembly and additional contract manufacturing options. By relocating within the same secure industrial park, PelcoEMS is able to maintain its skilled, experienced staff of 80 employees.
The factory now includes three manual through-hole manufacturing lines and two fully automated SMT lines, with an additional fully automated SMT line planned for 2019. As well as complex mixed circuit boards, the new facility will produce more complicated wire harness and cable projects. Additional final assembly opportunities will include box builds, conformal coating and manual assembly.

With this commitment of additional space, equipment, flexibility and skills, Pelco continues its dedication to customer satisfaction. MP90 Series capacitors are used in high voltage applications like power supplies that can see voltage spikes up to 3000 volts for milliseconds. The capacitor absorbs the voltage so there is no damage to the circuit.

MPX Series “across the line” capacitors are used to protect both the circuit and the consumer from high voltage impulses. In addition to filtering out noise, in the event of a failed circuit the MPX class X2 capacitor prevents the AC voltage from escaping the circuit, either incoming or outgoing.

Industrial dryers, large or small, require the ventilation system to be working properly. If the fans do not come on within 5 seconds when the dryers operate, the Peltec 351 sends a signal to the main control panel to shut the dryers off and flash a warning light.

Systems using ultraviolet light for sterilization of hospital rooms, medical devices and surgical tools require continuous power for expected performance. If the UV light goes out during operation, the Airotronics CS senses the lack of power and shuts the unit down. At the same time, it turns on a warning light and audible alarm.

Regulations require adding smelly stuff like methyl mercaptan for safety in drilling, processing and gas distribution. In odorant injection systems, solar-powered pumps controlled by repeat cycle or recycle timers deliver continuous dosing, to confirm presence of gas, or alert for leaks.
