Endangered Black Cherry trees in the Eastern United States are part of a pilot seed-saving project using Airotronics MC360 Multifunction Relay Timers.

Currently in prototype testing, a mesh-and-tarp “funnel” is assembled under the tree to catch seeds as they fall. The seeds pass through the mesh top and slide down the tarp into a sturdy wire collecting box.

Leaves on mesh cover above funnel

But what else falls in the forest? Leaves of course, and that’s where the MC360 Timer kicks in, running an array of 4 small fans for 10 seconds every 10 minutes, quickly blowing leaves off the mesh top.
If it proves effective, this low-maintenance solution may be adapted to clear leaves and debris (and critters) in seed collection programs for many species of cultivated trees. The engineer in charge of this inventive solution has used Airotronics timers for other projects and says, “The MC360 works like a charm”.

Seeds in the collector, leaf-free

The MC 360 Multifunction Relay timer is especially useful in prototyping and testing situations. With 11 timing modes available in a single unit, and time delay settings ranging from 1 second to 100 minutes, the versatile MC360 series is a cost-effective solution for fine-tuning timing functions in myriad applications.
Good news for America’s trees!

Created for OEMs and designers seeking significant flexibility at the prototype stage, MC360 series are multifunction timers with dipswitch settings, adjustable potentiometers, relay output and LED indicator.
Extremely versatile, the MC360 offers extensive options for products or systems under development, as well as one-of-a-kind solutions.
With nine single‑setting timing modes and two dual-setting timing modes available in a single unit, and time delays from 1 to 100 seconds or 1 to 100 minutes, the MC360 series is a cost-effective solution for fine-tuning timing functions in myriad applications.
Easy to order, easy to use.

Input Voltage AC: 24, 120 or 230VAC, 50 / 60Hz, ±10%
Input Voltage DC:12 or 24VDC, ±10%
Output current: 10A resistive, max.
Single-Setting Time delay: via pots
. Adjustable from 1 second to 100 minutes
Dual-Setting Time delays: via dipswitches and pots
. Adjustable from 1 second to 100 minutes
